With the joy & excitement of The Fifa World Cup behind us and the optimism of what is to come. South African’s can pat themselves on the back for having hosted a world class event in true South African style. The Market Photo Workshop has been exhibiting a photographic World Cup diary of this prestigious international event. These images bring to light the reality of the World Cup. Not just images of happy tourists parading in our streets but the effects of the World Cup of those living on the peripheries of society.
The objective of this photo journal is to highlight how the World Cup has altered the way in which the international community views South Africa. It aims to reveal the photographic narratives of these young photographers, telling their story and sharing their visual perspective of the world and South Africa.
The exhibition ends on the 15 of July 2010. Go down and take a look.
